Great wikipedia article about vampire traits. I especially enjoy the examination of Count Duckula.

"Piracy" sounds too sexy, Rename it "Theft", say music rightsholders
BoingBoing quotes Ian Brown as saying such rebranding is not only incorrect (piracy =/= theft), but it is like rebranding jaywalking as "road rape".38

Seldom have I been so embarrassed about being excited -- Hipster Tracks is exactly what it sounds like: a blog of songs that hipsters might like. There are hundreds and hundreds of pages, some bands I'd heard of, many I had not. Suggest a song, if you feel so inclined.

Forget Gaga & the Illuminati - This article makes the argument for "Telephone" as a Metaphor for US Healthcare.

ATTENTION: As you must know after all their exhausting, unfunny, Is-that-Ed-Begley-Jr.-rife advertising, the Census is this year. Many of you have gotten your census forms already.
While claiming to create an accurate picture of the diversity of America's population, this year's census does not include any questions relating to resident's sexual orientation. This means that the number of LGBT individuals in the US can continue to be misrepresented, and important LGBT issues could be passed over or not considered based on absent statistics.
Queer The Census is looking to help. It is offering FREE STICKERS to place on your census envelope that request the census include a question on sexual orientation on future census forms, and provides a check box question for the resident to tell the census what his or her sexual orientation is.
This is not only for LGBT individuals! Straight friends, please voice your concern and request a (FREE) sticker. There is a "straight" option included on the sticker, just for you.

Vodka makes me want to heave like Kate Moss after a grape, but some of you seem to like this stanky drink. Therein, I direct you to this "How to Make Skittle-Flavored Vodka" Tutorial. I think the flasks are pretty neat, too.

Forget March Madness - It's Muppet Madness season. Everyone should fill out a bracket.
I believe the most exciting first round match-up is Burt & Ernie v. The Count. I give it to the
Count purely because of THIS GLORIOUS PICTURE.

Portraying Lesbian Parents:
From the article: Nicole S. let us know about an image used by the Florida Family Policy Council in a message about a judge’s ruling to allow a lesbian couple to adopt a relative’s child they had been fostering. The FFPC, which opposes gay adoption, sent out an alert to its members and including an image of the couple…well, in theory. On the left is the photo included with the alert; on the right is a photo of the actual couple:
