Okay, I love Britney like all the other 'mos, but I'm calling shenanigans on her new single. The refrain is distinctly reminiscent of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" (which itself was the basis for another copyright suit) and the Bellamy Brother's "Would You Hold It Against Me". Wineho sounding like a shitfaced Aretha Franklin doing karaoke at a drag bar? Less exciting.

This song makes me nostalgic for my childhood and my parents' album collection; I can remember wishing it were longer then, and I have the same thoughts when it makes the iPod shuffle rounds today. Goes beyond doo-wop in a glorious way.

Old (to me) but good:

One of my favorite Wings songs, which is really a Moody Blues song carried over by Denny Laine when he joined the group. We're pounding out the oldies today, folks.

No one knows who this but me, but singer Bobby Hebb has passed away. I have a ridiculous condition where people saying everyday words starts songs playing through my head. Hebb's "Sunny" is one of those, every single time I hear the word sunny. May he rest in peace.
