One of my favorite Wings songs, which is really a Moody Blues song carried over by Denny Laine when he joined the group. We're pounding out the oldies today, folks.
The good stuff starts at about :40.

No one knows who this but me, but singer Bobby Hebb has passed away. I have a ridiculous condition where people saying everyday words starts songs playing through my head. Hebb's "Sunny" is one of those, every single time I hear the word sunny. May he rest in peace.

Come help gank FOX News' poll on Judge Walker's Prop 8 ruling by voting your mind - already 70.1% of voters have agreed that the judge's holding was the right call.

Not only are these songs almost melodically identical, but it's like Bieber is reenacting a teenage faux-lesbian version of Leona's music video.

I post this, despite the unnecessary racial slur, because I cannot help but fall deeply in love with this foreign troubadour when he sings with my favorite Final Fantasy game charging through the background and finishes with a middle-schooler's lyrical rendition of Super Smash Brothers. I love video games so much.

So you're going to look at this video, and probably choose not to play it. And that would be your mistake. Give it a minute or so to get context and I assure you, there will be laughter.

photography, quotations 1:56 AM | 0 comments
“One of the most worn clichés in the realm of photography is the notion that a photographic portrait can somehow “capture the essence” of its subject. This has always struck me as pretty problematic; the idea that there is a moment that can be captured on film that encapsulates some fundamental truth about us, about who we really are seems to be a little reductive… I have always liked to think there was more to me than that. I can understand a photographer’s search for an image in which the subject is as natural as possible, forgets the camera and maybe even themselves. However, this may not be any more revealing about the person being photographed than an image in which the subject is playing to the camera, showing another side of themselves in the process.”
